THE WORLD IN 2020 VECTOR SOLUTIONS

Mindful Living Calendar from Holstee For the next series of six posters you will need to generate the relevant questions yourself. If you could ask any questions about the world in 2020 what would they be? For this family of posters all the graphics must be vector and I'm asking you to use a repeating pattern on the background as a way of communicating the concept. As with your previous set of posters each question must be accompanied by a statistic that forces your audience to think about what the meaning of the question. The question must also be framed in the first person, i.e., "What will I...".

MINIMALIST FILM PAPER

Jaws: Source Designboom Spanish design firm Atipo has formed a collection of 15 minimalistic movie posters to cleverly represent different films. In the example below a bright blue glossy paper with a ripped chunk out of its side depicts ‘jaws’.

The Bezier Game The concept of the game is simple. You get an object and you have to trace its outline by bending curves around it — with as few nodes as possible. But be warned, what sounds easy in theory is quite tricky in practice. 

PARCC - CONTRAST

Contrast (“hierarchy & flow & starting point”) adds visual interest to a page and makes it more attractive to the reader's eye. It helps organize information and makes it easier for the reader to glance at the page and understand what is going on. It can help to help create a starting point for a page. The ideas of hierarchy, flow, starting and finishing points” are all closely related.

Each poster must be A3 Each poster must contain a high quality background image (i.e, greater than 1500 pixels) Include the question Include a statistic or information that provides a context for the question. In the example above the statistic/ information was "By 2050 the world population is expected to top 9 billion, of which nearly 7 billion will end up in cities." Remember to try and adopt a futures perspective. Attribute the photographer. QUESTIONS: What makes us happy? What is beauty? Wh at will we eat? How will we be educated? What is a sin? Who will we worship?

Until the October break I would like you to concentrate on posting images to your blog that demonstrate your understanding of the PARCC model . The images can represent strong or weak examples of the concept. Don't forget to label your posts with "dtp" and the principle that is being highlighted and support the image with an explaination about the design.
